Removal and Installation
Front Differential Assembly - 4 WD:
REMOVAL
1. Remove engine under cover and drain differential oil.
2. Remove the front propeller shaft.
3. Remove drive shaft nuts after placing matchmarks on the drive shaft and remove the six nuts holding the drive shaft and side gear shaft.
Torque: 83 Nm (61 ft. lbs.)
4. Disconnect vacuum hoses and 4WD indicator switch connector.
5. Remove crossmember.
Torque: 126 Nm (93 ft. lbs.).
6. Remove differential front mounting bolt and nut.
Torque: 147 Nm (108 ft. lbs.).
7. Remove front differential assembly, as follows:
a. Support the front differential with a jack.
b. Remove the left and right rear mounting bolts.
Torque: 167 Nm (123 ft. lbs.).
c. Lower the jack and remove the front differential assembly.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: After installation, fill the differential with differential oil.
