Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.2. Remove air bag, steering wheel, column cover and combination switch, Fig. 9.

3. Remove hood lock release lever and fuse box opening cover.
4. Remove four bolts, one screw and lower left hand finish panel.
5. Remove starter switch bezel.
6. Remove No. 2 heater to register duct.
7. Remove steering column. Refer to "Steering Column" section.
8. Remove clock.
9. Remove the center cluster finish panel as follows:
a. Remove cup holder and heater control knobs.
b. Using a screwdriver, or equivalent, remove heater control panel.
c. Disconnect hazard connector.
d. Remove two screws and center cluster finish panel.
e. Remove heater control and radio.
10. Remove three screws and three clips, then cluster finish panel.
11. Remove and disconnect four screws, four connectors, speedometer cable and combination meter.
12. Remove No. 1 register and No. 1 heater to register duct.
13. Remove two screws and glove compartment door.
14. Remove two screws, bolt and glove compartment door reinforcement.
15. Remove two clips and lower center instrument cover.
16. Remove three screws and lower No. 2 finish panel.
17. Remove ash receptacle box and retainer.
18. Remove and disconnect stereo opening cover, screw, cigar lighter connector and center lower cluster finish panel.
19. Remove instrument panel side bracket, two nuts and instrument panel.
20. Remove instrument panel No. 1 and No. two brace.
21. Remove center heater to register duct and defroster nozzle.
22. Remove four nuts, three bolts and instrument panel reinforcement.
