Air Bag Not Deployed
1. Perform diagnostic system check.2. With driver and passenger side air bag units removed, perform visual check for the following items:
a. Check for cuts and cracks in, or discoloration of steering wheel pad top surface and its grooved portion.
b. Check for cuts or cracks in wire harnesses, and for chipping in connectors.
c. Check for deformation of horn button contact plate of steering wheel. Replace steering wheel assembly if deformation has occurred.
d. Check passenger side instrument panel and air bag mounting for damage.
e. There should be no interference between steering wheel pad and steering wheel, and clearance should be uniform all the way around when new steering wheel pad is installed.
