Lubricate
    Drive/Propeller Shaft
      4WD vehicles. Lubricate grease fittings where available. Lubricate slip joints. Tighten flange bolts.
Inspect/Adjust
    Valve Clearance
      Inspect and adjust valve clearance when engine is cold.
Check
    Brakes and Traction Control
      Check fluid level. Inspect pedal freeplay. Inspect lines, hoses, master cylinder, and calipers for wear, leaks and damage. Check rear drum brakes for wear and leaks. Check parking brake.
Tighten/Torque
    Body and Frame
      Check all chassis/body nuts and bolts, torque as necessary.
Inspect
    Steering Gear
      Inspect for oil leaks from steering gear box.
    Fuel Supply Line
      Inspect fuel lines, hoses and connections. Check for leaks and damage. Also inspect vapor hoses and fuel tank band.
    Fluid - Transfer Case
      Check oil level and condition.
    Fluid - M/T
      Check fluid level and condition. Check for leaks.
    Fluid - Differential
      Check fluid level and condition. Check for leaks.
    Fluid - A/T
      Check fluid level and condition. Check for leaks.
    Exhaust System
      Check for cracks, corrosion and leakage. Check heat shields for debris.
    Evaporative Emission Control Canister
      California vehicles.
    Drive Belt
      Check for cracks, wear and fluid contamination. Adjust tension if necessary.
    Constant Velocity Joint Boot
      4WD vehicles. Check boots for leaks and damage.
    Ball Joint
      Inspect ball joints and dust covers for looseness, cracks, and sign of leakage.
Replace
    Spark Plug
      Replace with correct type and gap according to manufacturers specification.
    Oil Filter, Engine
      Replace every 12 months or 7500 miles.
    Fuel Filler Cap
      Replace filler cap gasket. Inspect filler neck for damage.
    Engine Oil
      Replace every 12 months or 7500 miles.
    Air Filter Element
      Extremely dusty conditions may require more frequent service of this component.
Clean/Repack
    Wheel Bearing
      Clean and repack wheel bearings. Torque to 19-23 ft.lbs. then back off and retighten finger-tight. Lubricate driveshaft bushing.
