Front Suspension / Front Axle Hub:





REMOVAL
1. Remove the front wheel.

NOTE: When installing the front wheel, tighten the wheel to 110 Nm (83 ft. lbs.).

2. Remove the shock absorber.
3. Using a screwdriver, remove the grease cap.
4. For the four wheel drive model, disconnect the drive shaft performing the following.
a. Remove the cotter pin and lock cap.
b. While applying the brakes, remove the lock nut.

NOTE: When installing the nut, tighten it to 235 Nm (174 ft. lbs.).

5. If the vehicle has an ABS, remove the ABS speed sensor and wire harness clamp from the steering knuckle.

NOTE: When installing the sensor, tighten the clamp to 8.0 Nm (71 inch lbs.).

6. Remove the brake line bracket from the steering knuckle.

NOTE: When installing the bracket, tighten it to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).

7. Remove the front brake caliper and the disc.





8. Remove the four bolts and disconnect the lower ball joint.
NOTE: When installing the ball joint, tighten the four bolts to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.).

9. Remove the steering knuckle with the axle hub by performing the following.
a. Remove the cotter pin and loosen the nut.

NOTE: When installing the nut, tighten it to 105 Nm (80 ft. lbs.).





b. Using the 09950-40010 (09951 - 04010, 09952 - 04010, 09553-04020, 09554-04010, 09955-04030, 0995-0401O) Special Service Tool (SST), disconnect the steering knuckle.
c. Remove the nut and steering knuckle.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the oil seal and drive shaft boot.

Removal Hint (4WD): When it is difficult to disconnect the drive shaft, tap the drive shaft with a plastic hammer.



INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:
- check the ABS speed sensor signal
- check the front wheel alignment
