Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from battery.

CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

2. Remove air cleaner cap and mass air flow meter.





- Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.
- Remove the bolt holding the A/C idle-up valve to the air cleaner cap.
- Loosen the air cleaner hose clamp.
- Loosen the 4 clips, and remove the air cleaner cap and mass air flow meter.
3. Remove mass air flow meter from air cleaner cap.





- Remove the 2 bolts and mass air flow meter.

INSTALLATION

1. Install mass air flow meter to air cleaner cap.





- Install the mass air flow meter with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 6.9 Nm (61 in lb)

2. Install air cleaner cap and mass air flow meter.





- Connect the air cleaner hose with the clamp.
- Install the air cleaner cap and mass air flow meter with the 4 clips.
- Install the bolt holding the A/C idle-up valve to the air cleaner cap,
- Connect the mass air flow meter connector.
3. Connect negative (-) terminal cable to battery.
