Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection

1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT.





2. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
- Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
- Using a 19 mm deep socket wrench, remove the ECT sensor and gasket.





3. INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.





Resistance: Refer to the image above.

- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ECT sensor.
4. REINSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
- Using a 19 mm deep socket wrench, install the ECT sensor and gasket.

Torque: 20 Nm (14 ft lb)

- Connect the ECT sensor connector.
5. REFILL ENGINE COOLANT.
