Front

1. Measure the vehicle height.

Front: A-B
Rear: C-D

Measuring Points:
A: Drive shaft height measured at its center on the outer edge.
B: Lower suspension arm front adjusting bolt height measured at its center.
C: Rear leaf spring front bushing height measured at its center.
D: Rear axle shaft height measured at its center.

NOTICE: Before inspecting the wheel alignment, adjust the vehicle height to specification. If the vehicle height is not standard, try to adjust it by pushing down on or lifting the body.

2. Install camber-caster-kingpin gauge or onto the wheel alignment tester. Follow the specific instructions of the equipment manufacturer.
3. Inspect the camber, caster and the steering axis inclination.

STD Cab:
Camber: 0° 45' ± 45'.
Left-Right Error: 45' or less.
Caster: 1° 30' ± 45'.
Left-Right Error: 45' or less.
Steering Axis Inclination: 11° 50' ± 45'.
Left-Right Error: 45' or less.

Extra Cab:
Camber: 0° 00' ± 45'.
Left-Right Error: 45' or less.
Caster: 1° 20' ± 45'.
Left-Right Error: 45' or less.
Steering Axis Inclination: 11° 50' ± 45'.
Left-Right Error: 45' or less.

NOTE: If the steering axis inclination is not as specified, after camber and caster have correctly adjusted, recheck the steering knuckle front wheel for bearing or looseness.

Measuring Point Reference:

4. Inspect the toe-in. Toe-in (totals):

STD Cab 1/2 Ton:
A+B: 0.08° ± 0.2°.
C-D: 1.0 ± 2 mm.

Extra Cab P215/75 R15:
A+B: 0.14° ± 0.2°.
C-D: 1.9 ± 2 mm.

Extra Cab P235/75 R15:
A+B: 0.14° ± 0.2°.
C-D: 2.0 ± 2 mm.

NOTE: If the toe-in is not within the specification, adjust the tie rod end.

5. Adjust the camber and caster, as follows:

Camber: 0° 45' ± 30'.
Left-Right Error: 30' or less.

STD Cab
Caster: 1° 30' ± 30'.
Left-Right Error: 30' or less.

Extra Cab
Caster: 1° 20' ± 30'.
Left-Right Error: 30' or less.

Front Adjusting Cam:

Fig. 2 Adjusting Rear Camber Angle:

a. Loosen the front and/or rear adjusting cam nuts.
b. Adjust the camber and caster by front and/or rear adjusting cams.

NOTE: Try to adjust the camber and caster to the center value.

c. Tighten the front and/or rear adjusting cam nuts.

Torque: 226 Nm (166 ft. lbs.).

6. Adjust the toe-in, as follows:

a. Loosen the clamp bolts and nuts.

b. Adjust the toe-in by turning the left and right tie rod tubes an equal amount.

NOTE:
^ Try to adjust the toe-in to the center value.
^ Make sure that the length of the left and right tie rods is equal.

c. Torque the tie rod.

Torque: 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).

NOTE: Face the clamp bolt toward the front of the vehicle.

7. Inspect the wheel angle fully, and measure the turning angle.

STD Cab:
Inside Wheel: 32°01'.
Outside Wheel (Reference): 30°30'.

Extra Cab:
Inside Wheel: 32°14'.
Outside Wheel (Reference): 30°30'.

If the maximum steering angles differ from standard value, adjust the wheel angle with the knuckle stopper bolts.

Torque: 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).

If the wheel angle still cannot be adjusted with limits, inspect and replace damaged or worn steering parts.
