Wheel Hub: Testing and Inspection

Front Axle - 4 WD:

AXLE HUB BEARING INSPECTION AND REPAIR





1. Inspect the bearings, taking care to clean the bearings and outer races and inspect them for wear or damage.
2. Replace the bearing outer race, as follows:
a. Using a brass bar and hammer, remove the bearing outer race.

NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the ABS speed sensor rotor.





b. Using Special Service Tool (SST) 09950 - 60020 (09951 - 00720), 09950 - 70010 (09951 - 07100) or equivalents for the outside race and SST 09950 - 60020 (09951 - 00810), 09950 - 70010 (09951 - 07150) or equivalents for the inside race, and a hammer, carefully install a new bearing outer race.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the ABS speed sensor rotor.
