Cylinder Head






CYLINDER HEAD TIGHTENING SEQUENCE/SPECIFICATIONS
Install and uniformly tighten the cylinder head bolts on each cylinder head, in several passes, in the sequence shown, then repeat for the other side, as shown.

1st Pass: Torque to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.)
- If any of the cylinder head bolts do not meet the torque specification, replace the cylinder head bolt.





NOTE: Before making 2nd pass, mark the front of the cylinder head bolt head with paint.





2nd Pass: Turn the head bolts an additional 90°.
3rd Pass: Turn the head bolts an additional 90°.

NOTE: Check that the painted mark is now facing rearward.

Recessed Bolts: 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.)
Head To Cover: 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.)
Intake Manifold To Cylinder Head 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.)
Intake Manifold Stay To Cylinder Head 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.)
Exhaust Manifold To Cylinder Head 40 Nm (30 ft. lbf.)
