Lower Suspension Arm

Front Lower Suspension / Suspension Arm:





REMOVAL
1. Remove the front wheel.

NOTE: When installing the front wheel, tighten it to 110 Nm (83 ft. lbs.).

2. Remove the steering gear assembly .
3. Disconnect the stabilizer bar link.
4. Disconnect the shock absorber from the lower suspension arm.
5. Disconnect the lower ball joint, performing these procedures.
a. Support the upper suspension arm and steering knuckle securely.
b. Remove the cotter pin and nut from the lower ball joint.

NOTE: When installing the knuckle, tighten the nut to 140 Nm (105 ft. lbs.).





c. Using the 09610-20012 Special Service Tool (SST), disconnect the lower ball joint from the lower suspension arm.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the lower ball joint.

Installation Hint: Face the cotter pin hole of the lower ball joint forward.

6. Remove the lower suspension arm, doing these procedures.





a. Place matchmarks on the front and rear adjusting cams.
b. Remove the two bolts, nuts, adjusting cams and lower suspension arm.

NOTE: When installing the arm, tighten the bolts to 130 Nm (96 ft. lbs.).





7. Using the 09922-10010 SST, remove the No. 1 and No. 2 spring bumpers.

NOTE: When installing the bumpers, tighten them to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).

Installation Hint: Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 34.5 cm (13.6 inch).

INSTALLATION
Reverse the procedure to install, noting the following:
- Check front wheel alignment.
