Front Suspension / Stabilizer Bar:
REMOVAL
1. Remove the front wheels.
Torque: 110 Nm (83 ft. lbs.).
2. Disconnect stabilizer bar links.
Remove the two nuts and disconnect the stabilizer bar links from the lower suspension arm.
Torque: 69 Nm (51 ft. lbs.).
HINT: If the ball joint stud turns together with the nut, use a hexagon wrench to hold the stud.
3. Remove the stabilizer bar.
a. Remove the two bolts, nuts and stabilizer bar with the bushings and brackets.
Torque: 25 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).
b. Remove the two brackets and bushings from the stabilizer bar.
HINT: At the time of installation, install the bushings to the stabilizer bar so that the cutout of the bushings faces the front of the vehicle.
4. Remove the stabilizer bar links.
Hold the stabilizer bar link, remove the nuts, retainers and bushings.
Torque: 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).
INSPECTION
Inspect the ball joint for rotation condition.
a. As shown, flip the ball joint stud back and forth five times, before installing the nut.
b. Using a torque wrench, turn the stud continuously one turn each 2-4 seconds and take the torque reading on the fifth turn.
Turning torque: 0.05-2.0 Nm (0.4-17 inch lbs.).
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
