Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair





REMOVAL






1. Remove left and right front wheels.
Torque: 104 Nm (77 ft. lbs.)
2. Remove left and right stabilizer bar links.
Remove the 4 nuts and 2 links.
Torque: 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.)

HINT: If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a 5 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud. At the time of installation, set the green colored stabilizer bar link at LH side and white one at RH side.

3. Disconnect tie rod ends from steering knuckle.





4. Remove left and right brackets and bushings.
Remove the 4 bolts, 2 brackets and bushings.
Torque: 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.)

HINT: At the time of installation, install the elastic bushing to the inside of the bushing on the stabilizer bar.






5. Remove PS gear assembly set bolts and nuts.
Torque: 181 Nm (134 ft. lbs.)
6. Remove stabilizer bar.
Remove the stabilizer bar from the left hand side with the PS gear assembly raised.

NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the pressure feed tube.

HINT: At the time of installation, set the stabilizer bar with white colored side at LH side.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
