Recall 97V188000: Certifiction Label Error/Tire Pressure

Vehicle Description: Passenger station wagons and vans. The Certification Label contains a mis-statement of the recommended cold tire inflation pressure. This does not comply with requirements of FMVSS No. 120, "Tire Selection and Rims for Motor Vehicles other than Passenger Cars." See note.

Toyota has not submitted a corrective action for this noncompliance. The manufacturer is petitioning NHTSA for a determination that this matter is inconsequential with respect to motor vehicle safety. The manufacturer is not obligated to conduct an owner notification and remedy campaign until NHTSA has resolved that the matter is consequential.
