Removal and Replacement
REMOVAL1. REMOVE SLIDE DOOR
a. Remove the 2 bolts and open striker.
Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf)
b. Remove the rear door check cover.
c. Remove the screw, then using a screwdriver, remove the center rail garnish.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
d. w/o Power slide door:
Remove the bolt and center rail protector.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
e. Remove the upper rail cushion.
f. w/ Power slide door:
Remove the 2 bolts from the slide door.
g. Slide the slide door rearward, remove each hinge from the rails and slide door.
2. REMOVE BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE
3. REMOVE SLIDE DOOR SCUFF PLATE
4. REMOVE SPEAKER GRILLE
5. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM COVER
6. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL
7. w/ Power slide door:
REMOVE CENTER ROLLER
Remove the center roller from the center rail, then disconnect the control cables.
8. w/ Power slide door:
REMOVE POWER SLIDE DOOR DRIVE UNIT
a. Disconnect the connectors.
b. RH:
Remove the bolt, 7 nuts and power slide door drive unit.
c. LH:
Remove the 8 nuts and power slide door drive unit.
9. REMOVE CENTER RAIL
a. Remove the retractor of rear No.1 seat outer belt.
Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)
b. Remove the 6 nuts and center rail.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
10. REMOVE LOWER STEP PLATE
Remove the 3 screws, 2 clips and lower step plate.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
HINT: When the battery is disconnected or the power to the power slide door motor is cut, the power slide door control system does not operate. It is necessary to initialize the system in the following procedures. Otherwise slide door cannot be operated normally.
- Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal for more than 1 min., and install it.
- Close the slide door manually.
- Push the power slide door MAIN switch ON and wait for 5 seconds.
- Fully open the slide door by the power slide door control switch and wait for 3 seconds (A).
- Fully close the slide door by the power slide door control switch and wait for 3 seconds (B).
- Repeat the step (A) and (B).
