Circuit Operation

SYSTEM OUTLINE

The SRS is a supplemental protection device to the seat belts, provided to protect the occupants inside the vehicle.

When the ignition SW is turned ON, the current flows from IGN1 fuse to airbag sensor assembly TERMINAL IG2, and from ECU-IG fuse to airbag sensor assembly TERMINAL IG1.

In case the airbag sensor assembly detects deceleration of speed caused by front collision and determines that the airbag should be ignited, current flows to the driver's seat and front passenger's seat airbag and pretensioner squib, and the airbags are ignited.

At the same time, door unlock signal is output to the body ECU, and engine fuel cut signal is output to the engine control module.

In case the side airbag sensor detects deceleration of speed caused by side collision and determines that the airbag should be ignited, current flows to the side airbag and curtain shield airbag squib, and the airbags are ignited.

At the same time, door unlock signal is output to the body ECU, and engine fuel cut signal is output to the engine control module.
