Rear Bumper: Service and Repair
REPLACEMENTHINT: Installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the illustration, it is indicated.
1. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ASSY
a. Remove the 3 screws and clip from the mudguard quarter panel sub-assy LH.
b. Remove the 3 screws and clip from the mudguard quarter panel sub-assy RH.
c. Remove the 12 bolts and 2 clips.
d. Disengage the hook and and remove the rear bumper.
2. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER
3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER BAR REINFORCEMENT LH
a. Remove the bolt and bumper bar reinforcement.
4. REMOVE REAR BUMPER BAR REINFORCEMENT RH
a. Remove the bolt and bumper bar reinforcement
5. REMOVE REAR BUMPER RETAINER UPPER LH
a. Remove the 2 bolts.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the bumper retainer.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
6. REMOVE REAR BUMPER RETAINER UPPER RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described above for the LH side.
7. REMOVE REAR BUMPER END RETAINER LH
a. Remove the bolt.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the rear bumper retainer.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
8. REMOVE REAR BUMPER END RETAINER RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described above for the LH side.
9. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION LH
a. Remove the clip and rear extension bumper.
10. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION RH
a. Remove the clip and rear extension bumper.
11. REMOVE REAR LAMP ASSY LH
a. Remove the nut and fog lamp.
12. REMOVE REAR LAMP ASSY RH
a. Remove the nut and fog lamp.
13. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ASSY
a. Install the rear bumper with the 12 bolts and 2 clips.
Torque:
7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf) for bolt A
14.0 N.m (143 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf) for bolt B
