The Highlander has adopted a body construction that achieves both high rigidity and safety.
Lightweight and High Rigid Body
1. High Strength Sheet Steel
High strength sheet steel has been used in order to ensure body rigidity and realize a lightweight body.
2. Body Shell
^ The hinge areas of the back door are provided with reinforcements that restrain the deformation of the back door opening in order to ensure excellent driving feeling.
^ Gussets have been placed on top of the front suspension towers to ensure body rigidity in the vertical direcion. Furthermore, the areas in which the front suspension is mounted have been connected with an upper suspension brace to ensure a high level of torsional rigidity of the front body.
