Exterior Moulding / Trim: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT FENDER OUTSIDE MOULDING




a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the moulding.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING




a. Remove the 2 hole plugs and 2 nuts.




b. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).

NOTE: Do not heat moulding excessively.

c. Cut the adhesive tape with a knife.

NOTE:
- If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
- Do not damage the body.

d. Using a screwdriver, remove the moulding.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

3. REMOVE SLIDE DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING




a. Remove the nut.




b. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).

NOTE: Do not heat moulding excessively.

c. Cut the adhesive tape with a knife.

NOTE:
- If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
- Do not damage the body.

d. Remove the moulding.




4. REMOVE OUTSIDE QUARTER MOULDING
Remove the 3 screws and moulding.

5. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOWER OUTSIDE MOULDING




a. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).

NOTE: Do not heat moulding excessively.

b. Cut the adhesive tape with a knife.

NOTE:
- If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
- Do not damage the body.

c. Using a screwdriver, remove the moulding.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FRONT FENDER OUTSIDE MOULDING
Install the moulding with 2 screws.

2. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING
a. Clean the door mounting surface.
1. Using a heat light, heat the door mounting surface to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).

NOTE: Do not heat door excessively.

2. Remove the adhesive tape from the door.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner,

b. If reusing moulding:
Clean the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).

NOTE: Do not heat moulding excessively.

2. Remove the adhesive tape from the moulding.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.




4. Apply new adhesive tape to the moulding as shown in the illustration.

c. Install the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the door and moulding.

Body: 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F)
Moulding: 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F)

NOTE: Do not heat moulding excessively.

2. Lift the moulding release sheet from the face of moulding.

NOTE: When the moulding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get on to the uncoated area.

3. Install the moulding to the door.
4. Install the 2 nuts and 2 hole plugs.

3. INSTALL SLIDE DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING
a. Clean the door mounting surface.
1. Using a heat light, heat the door mounting surface to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).

NOTE: Do not heat door excessively.

2. Remove the adhesive tape from the door.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.

b. If reusing moulding:
Clean the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).

NOTE: Do not heat moulding excessively.

2. Remove the adhesive tape from the moulding.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.




4. Apply new adhesive tape to the moulding as shown in the illustration.

c. Install the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the door and moulding.

Body: 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F)
Moulding: 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F)

NOTE: Do not heat moulding excessively.

2. Lift the moulding release sheet from the face of moulding.

NOTE: When the moulding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get on to the uncoated area.

3. Install the moulding to the door.
4. Install the nut.

4. INSTALL OUTSIDE QUARTER MOULDING
Install the moulding with the 3 screws.

5. INSTALL BACK DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING
a. Clean the door mounting surface.
1. Using a heat light, heat the door mounting surface to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).

NOTE: Do not heat door excessively.

2. Remove the adhesive tape from the door.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.

b. If reusing moulding:
Clean the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).

NOTE: Do not heat moulding excessively.

2. Remove the adhesive tape from the moulding.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.




4. Apply new adhesive tape to the moulding as shown in the illustration.

c. Install the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.

Body: 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F)
Moulding: 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F)
