System Inspection

INSPECTION




1. A/C Switch:
INSPECT A/C INDICATOR OPERATION
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 and negative (-) lead to terminal 4
b. Push the button in and check that the A/C indicator lights up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C switch.




c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and check that the indicator dims.
If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C switch.







2. INSPECT A/C SWITCH CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified, replace the A/C switch







3. INSPECT BLOWER SPEED CONTROL SWITCH CONTINUITY.
Switch Continuity:
If continuity is not as specified, replace the blower speed control switch.

Illumination circuit:
If continuity is not as specified, replace the bulb.




4. INSPECT FRESH/RECIRC SWITCH INDICATOR OPERATION
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and negative(-) lead to terminal 8.
b. Push the fresh/recirc switch in and check that the indicator lights up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.




5. INSPECT DIMMING OPERATION
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the batter to terminal 1 and negative(-) lead to terminal 8.
b. Push the fresh/recirc switch, then the indicator lights up.
c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 and then check that the indicator dims.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.







6. INSPECT RECIRCULATE SWITCH CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified, replace the fresh/recirc switch.




7. Air flow selector:
INSPECT RECIRCULATE SWITCH INDICATOR OPERATION
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 8.
b. Turn the air flow selector to the "DEF", "FOOT/DEF" and "FOOT" position and check that the recirculate switch indicator lights off.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.
