Component Tests and General Diagnostics

INSPECTION




1. w/o Vanity
INSPECT FRONT PERSONAL LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY

a. Disconnect the connector from the personal light.
b. Turn the dome lamp switch ON, check that continuity exists between terminal 1 and 3.
c. Turn the interior light switch to DOOR, check that continuity exists between terminal 2 and 3.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.




2. w/Vanity:
INSPECT FRONT PERSONAL LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY
a. Disconnect the connector from the personal light.
b. Push the personal light switch ON, check that continuity exists between terminal 1 and 3.
c. Turn the interior light switch to DOOR, check that continuity exists between terminal 2 and 3.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.

3. CE grade:
INSPECT REAR NO.1 INTERIOR LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY




a. Disconnect the connector from the interior light.
b. Turn the interior light switch ON, check that continuity exists between terminal 2 and body ground.




c. Turn the interior light switch to DOOR, check that continuity exists between terminal 1 and 2.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.

4. LE grade:
INSPECT REAR NO.1 INTERIOR LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY




a. Disconnect the connector from the personal light.
b. Push the personal light switch ON, check that continuity exists between terminal 1 and 3.




c. Turn the interior light switch to DOOR, check that continuity exists between terminal 2 and 3.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.

5. INSPECT REAR NO.2 INTERIOR LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY




a. Disconnect the connector from the interior light.
b. Turn the interior light switch ON, check that continuity exists between terminal 2 and body ground.




c. Turn the interior light switch DOOR, check that continuity exists between terminal 1 and 2.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.







6. INSPECT VANITY LIGHT CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified, replace the bulb or vanity light.




7. INSPECT FRONT AND SLIDE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH CONTINUITY
a. Check that continuity exists between terminals and the switch body with the switch ON (switch pin released: door opened).
b. Check that no continuity exists between terminals and the switch body with the switch OFF (switch pin pushed in: door closed).
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.




8. INSPECT BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH CONTINUITY
a. Check that continuity exists between terminals and the switch body with the switch ON (switch pin released: door opened).
b. Check that no continuity exists between terminals and the switch body with the switch OFF (switch pin pushed in: door closed).
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.
