Removal and Installation
Airbag Sensor Assembly:
REMOVAL
NOTE:
Do not open the cover or the case of the ECU and electrical device unless absolutely necessary.
(If the IC terminals are touched, the IC may be destroyed by static electricity.)
1. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
a. Front door scuff plates
b. Cowl side boards
c. No.2 finish panel
d. Glove compartment
e. Glove compartment door finish plate
f. Lower finish panel
g. No.1 safety pad insert
h. Center cluster finish panel
i. Front ash receptacle box
j. Front ash receptacle retainer
k. Radio assembly
l. Lower center cluster finish panel
2. REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the 3 airbag sensor assembly connectors.
NOTE: Remove the connectors with the sensor assembly installed.
b. Using a torx wrench, remove the 3 screws and airbag sensor assembly.
Torx wrench: T40 (Part No. 09042 - 00020 or locally manufactured tool)
INSTALLATION
NOTE:
- Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace them with new parts.
- Never reuse the airbag sensor assembly involved in a collision when the airbag has deployed.
- Never repair a sensor in order to reuse it.
1. INSTALL AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
a. Using a torx wrench, install the airbag sensor assembly with 3 screws.
Torx wrench: T40 (Part No. 09042 - 00020 or locally manufactured tool)
Torque: 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)
b. Connect the 3 airbag sensor assembly connectors.
NOTE:
- Installation of the connector is done with the sensor assembly installed.
- Make sure that the sensor assembly is installed with the specified torque.
- If the sensor assembly has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other detects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the sensor assembly with a new one.
- When installing the sensor assembly, take care that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
- After installing, shake the sensor assembly to check that there is no looseness.
2. INSTALL THESE PARTS:
a. Lower center cluster finish panel
b. Radio assembly
c. Front ash receptacle retainer
d. Front ash receptacle box
e. Center cluster finish panel
f. No.1 safety pad insert
g. Lower finish panel
h. Glove compartment door finish plate
i. Glove compartment
j. No.2 finish panel
k. Cowl side boards
l. Front door scuff plates
