Keyless Entry Transmitter Battery: Service and Repair
TRANSMITTER BATTERYREPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY
NOTE: Special caution should be taken when handling each of these precise electronic components.
a. Using a coins, or other flat object, open the transmitter case.
NOTE: Do not forcibly open the cover.
b. Remove the discharged transmitter battery using a ballpoint pen. Insert the tip of the ballpoint pen in the guide groove and lift out the battery as shown in the illustration.
NOTE:
- Do not push the terminals with your finger.
- Do not forcibly pry up the battery (lithium battery). The terminals may be damaged.
- Do not touch the battery with wet hands. Water may cause rust.
- Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter because handling the components may interfere with proper operation of the transmitter.
2. INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY
a. Place a new transmitter battery in the transmitter with the positive (+) side up. Close the transmitter case securely.
NOTE:
- Be sure that the positive side and the negative side of the transmitter battery are matched correctly.
- Be careful not to bend the transmitter battery terminals during installation.
- Keep the transmitter case interior free of dust and oil.
