Entertainment Systems: Description and Operation

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

1. OUTLINE
- As a unique feature of Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system, the front and rear seat occupants can enjoy different audio-visual modes at the same time. Thus, this system offers enhanced entertainment to the rear seat occupants.
- The rear seat occupants can control the audio-visual modes with the remote controller (switch assembly), and listen to audio by using wired or wireless headphones.
- The RSE system is controlled by the multi-display controller and the communication among the audio head unit and, rear display assembly (DVD player) are established via an AVC-LAN (Audio Visual Communication-Local Area Network).

3. COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
a. This system has 2 kinds of AVC-LAN, Main AVC-LAN and Sub AVC-LAN.




b. Multi-display controller sub-assembly works as a master unit in the Sub AVC-LAN, but not in the Main AVC-LAN.

4. COMMUNICATION SYSTEM




a. This system performs communication between components through the main AVC-LAN and sub AVC-LAN.
b. The multi-display controller functions as a master unit, which performs communication between the multi-display controller and rear display assembly, in the sub AVC-LAN circuit.

HINT: Refer to "NAVIGATION SYSTEM" and "AUDIO SYSTEM" for the main AVC- LAN circuit.

c. The multi-display controller is equipped with a resistor (60 to 80 Ohms) for communication.

5. DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION
a. The multi-display controller functions as a master unit in the sub AVC-LAN circuit. It identifies trouble in this circuit, and the identified information is displayed on the television display assembly.
