DISASSEMBLY1. REMOVE VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB (for Driver Seat)
a. Using a piece of cloth, remove the snap rings and vertical seat adjuster knob.
2. REMOVE VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB CAP (for Driver Seat)
a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and remove the vertical seat adjuster knob cap.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE NO.2 (for Driver Seat)
a. Remove the 2 screws and vertical adjusting handle No.2.
4. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE
a. Lift the reclining adjuster release handle.
b. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD
a. Release the 2 rubber bands on the backside of the front seatback board cover sub-assembly.
b. Remove the screw.
c. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw at the top of the cushion shield.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
d. Move the front seat cushion shield in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.
e. Disengage the claw and clip, and remove the front seat cushion shield.
6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER
a. Remove the screw.
b. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw at the top of the cushion shield inner.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
c. Move the front seat cushion shield inner in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.
d. Disengage the claw and clip, and remove the front seat cushion shield inner.
7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD
a. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
b. Using a screwdriver, raise the 2 claws on the cushion frame of the front seat adjuster RH.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
c. With passenger seat heater:
1. Disconnect the connector.
d. Disengage the hooks and remove the hog rings and separate type front seat cushion cover with pad.
9. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
a. Remove the hog rings and separate type front seat cushion cover.
10. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD
11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
12. REMOVE SEAT ARMREST COVER
a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the seat armrest cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
13. REMOVE SEAT ARMREST ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the bolt and seat armrest assembly.
14. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUBASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Slide the front seatback board sub-assembly down to disengage the 2 claws at the top.
c. Hold the top right and lower left corners of the front seatback board sub-assembly.
d. Turn the front seatback board sub-assembly counterclockwise to disengage the 2 claws. Remove the front seatback board sub-assembly.
15. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD COVER SUBASSEMBLY
a. Disengage the hooks and remove the front seatback board cover sub-assembly.
16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT
a. Release the hook and turn back the upper part of the separate type front seatback cover so that access to the claws of the front seat headrest supports is possible.
b. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat headrest support (LH side).
17. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
18. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD
a. With passenger seat heater:
1. Disconnect the connector.
b. Without front seat side airbag:
1. Disengage the hook and remove the separate type front seatback cover bracket with pad.
c. With front seat side airbag:
1. Remove the nut and disconnect the separate type front seatback cover bracket.
2. Disengage the hook and remove the separate type front seatback cover bracket with pad.
19. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER
a. Remove the hog rings and separate type front seatback cover.
20. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK PAD (w/o Front Seat Side Airbag)
21. REMOVE LH SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER
a. Remove the screw and LH seat reclining adjuster inside cover.
22. REMOVE RH SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER
HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
23. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER
a. Remove the screws and reclining adjuster inside cover LH.
24. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER
HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
25. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER LH
a. Remove the screws and front seat cushion shield lower LH.
26. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER RH
HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
27. REMOVE SEAT SLIDE POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR (for Driver Seat)
28. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Driver Seat)
29. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Seat)
30. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTER SPACER (for Driver Seat)
a. Remove the vertical adjuster spacer.
31. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE (for Front Passenger Seat)
a. Disengage the clamp and remove the front seat wire.
32. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)
a. Disengage the clamp and remove the 2 nuts and front seat side airbag assembly.
33. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
REASSEMBLY
1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
2. INSTALL FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)
a. Install the front seat side airbag assembly with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
b. Install the clamp.
3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT WIRE (for Front Passenger Seat)
4. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTER SPACER (for Driver Seat)
5. INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Seat)
6. INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Driver Seat)
7. INSTALL SEAT SLIDE POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR (for Driver Seat)
8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER RH
9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER LH
10. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH
11. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH
12. INSTALL RH SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER
13. INSTALL LH SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER
14. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK PAD (w/o Front Seat Side Airbag)
15. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER
a. Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seatback pad with new hog rings.
NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.
16. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD
a. Install the separate type front seatback cover with pad to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.
b. With front seat side airbag:
1. Install the separate type front seatback cover bracket with the nut.
Torque: 5.6 N.m (57 kgf.cm, 50 in.lbf)
NOTE:
- For vehicles with side airbags, the side airbags may not deploy properly unless the separate type front seatback cover is securely installed.
- Check that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
- Install the bracket securely.
c. Install the hook.
17. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

19. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD COVER SUBASSEMBLY
20. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUBASSEMBLY
21. INSTALL SEAT ARMREST ASSEMBLY
a. Install the seat armrest assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 37 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)
22. INSTALL SEAT ARMREST COVER
23. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
24. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD
25. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
a. Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover to the separate type front seat cushion pad with new hog rings.
NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.
26. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD
27. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

29. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD
30. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE
31. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE NO.2 (for Driver Seat)
32. INSTALL VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB CAP (for Driver Seat)
33. INSTALL VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB (for Driver Seat).
