Diagnosis System

DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

1. DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
(a) Inspect the battery voltage.
Voltage: 11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge the battery before proceeding.
(b) Check the DLC3.
The skid control ECU and HV control ECU use CAN and the ISO 9141-2 for communication protocol. The terminal arrangement of the DLC3 complies with SAE J1962 and matches the ISO 9141-2 format.
Verify the conditions listed in the table below.

NOTICE:
^ *: Before measuring the resistance, leave the vehicle as it is for at least 1 minute and do not operate the ignition switch, any other switches or the doors.

If the result is not as specified, the DLC3 may have a malfunction. Repair or replace the harness and connector.
(c) Connect the cable of the intelligent tester to the DLC3, turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and attempt to use the tester. If the display indicates that a communication error has occurred, there is a problem with either the vehicle or the tester.
^ If communication is normal when the tester is connected to another vehicle, inspect the DLC3 of the original vehicle.
^ If communication is still not possible when the tester is connected to another vehicle, the problem may be in the tester itself. Consult the Service Department listed in the tester's instruction manual.

2. CHECK MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY
^ If the HV control ECU detects that its function to communicate with the skid control ECU fails, or a function that is related to MGR fails, the ECU performs a diagnosis and memorizes the failed sections. Furthermore, the HV control ECU transmits the AWD warning illumination request signal to the combination meter assembly (meter CPU). Then, the combination meter assembly (meter CPU) displays the AWD warning on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly to inform the driver.
Furthermore, the master warning light illuminates and the buzzer sounds simultaneously.
^ If the skid control ECU detects a failure in the brake control system, the ECU performs a diagnosis and memorizes the failed sections. Furthermore, the skid control ECU transmits the AWD warning illumination request signal to the HV control ECU. The HV control ECU transmits this signal to the combination meter assembly (meter CPU). Then, the combination meter assembly (meter CPU) displays the AWD warning on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly to inform the driver. Furthermore, the master warning light illuminates and the buzzer sounds simultaneously.
