REMOVAL
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION: Read PRECAUTION, refer to Restraint Systems Service Precautions thoroughly before servicing.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
3. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX REAR (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
5. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX REAR (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
6. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
7. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
8. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
9. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
10. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
HINT: Use the same procedures for the deck side trim box RH and the deck side trim box LH.
11. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
12. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
13. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
14. REMOVE ROPE HOOK (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
15. REMOVE ROPE HOOK (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
16. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
17. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
18. REMOVE REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH
a. Disconnect the connector from the rear airbag sensor LH.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and the rear airbag sensor LH.
INSTALLATION
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. INSTALL REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH
a. Check that the ignition switch is off.
b. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.
CAUTION: After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.
c. Install the rear airbag sensor LH with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 17.5 N.m (179 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)
CAUTION:
- If the rear airbag sensor LH has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the rear airbag sensor LH, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
d. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the rear airbag sensor LH.
e. Connect the connector to the rear airbag sensor LH.

4. INSTALL ROPE HOOK (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
5. INSTALL ROPE HOOK (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
6. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
7. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
8. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
9. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
10. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
11. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
12. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
13. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
14. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX REAR (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
15. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX REAR (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
16. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY
17. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
18. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
HINT: Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal.
19. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Inspect the SRS warning light.
