Registration
REGISTRATIONNOTE: When replacing the theft deterrent ECU or transmitter, registration of recognition code is necessary because they are provided as single components.
1. Select the operation mode to perform from the following operations.
HINT:
- Add mode is used to register new recognition codes while still retaining codes already registered. This mode is used when a new transmitter is added. If the number of registered codes exceeds 4, the previously registered codes will be erased in order, starting from the first registered code.
- Rewrite mode is used to erase all the previously registered recognition codes in order to register all-new recognition codes. This mode is used when the transmitter or the door control receiver is replaced with a new one.
- Confirmation mode is used to confirm how many recognition codes have already been registered before another recognition code is registered.
- Prohibition mode is used to erase all the registered codes and disable the wireless door lock function. This mode is used when the transmitter is lost.
2. Follow the chart to register the transmitter recognition code to the theft deterrent ECU.
HINT:
- When the procedure is not as specified, the registration operation is cancelled.
- A maximum of 4 recognition codes can be registered.
1. PROCEDURE FOR RECOGNITION CODE REGISTRATION (SWITCH OPERATION)
HINT: This is to show the registration procedure briefly using the intelligent tester. For detailed procedures, please refer to the prompts on the tester screen. The number of currently registered codes can be checked out on the first screen of the WIRELESS REGISTRATION.
a. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
b. Select the menu on the intelligent tester.
HINT: After the following operations, proceed to the succeeding operations according to the prompts on the tester screen.
1. Select "L/C100".
2. Select "TDS (Theft Deterrent System)".
3. Select "WIRELESS REGISTRATION".
c. Press both lock and unlock switches between 1 to 1.5 seconds. (Procedure A)
d. Press either switch for more than 1 second within 3 seconds from Procedure A.
e. This wireless buzzer sounds when the registration is completed normally.
f. Register an other transmitter, or finish the registration.
HINT: If continuing the registration, go back to Procedure A.
2. PROCEDURE FOR RECOGNITION CODE REGISTRATION (USING INTELLIGENT TESTER)
a. The vehicle should be in the following conditions.
1. Driver door is open (Other doors are closed).
2. No key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder.
b. Insert and remove the key into / from the ignition key cylinder twice (Insert -> Remove -> Insert -> Remove) within 5 seconds.
c. Close and open the driver door twice (Close -> Open -> Close -> Open). (Procedure A)
d. Insert and remove the key into / from the ignition key cylinder (Insert -> Remove) within 40 seconds from Procedure A.
e. Close and open the driver door twice (Close -> Open -> Close -> Open). (Procedure B)
f. Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and close all the doors within 40 seconds from Procedure B.
g. Select mode. (Procedure C)
h. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder within 40 seconds from Procedure C.
i. Whether or not each mode is operating is indicated by the number of times the door lock operates (lock/ unlock) within 3 seconds.
HINT: The confirmation mode and the prohibition mode are finished after the response.
j. Press both lock and unlock switches between 1 to 1.5 seconds. (Procedure D
k. Press either switch for more than 1 second within 40 seconds from Procedure D.
l. Whether or not the registration is completed is indicated by the number of times the door lock operates (lock / unlock operation) within 3 seconds.
m. Register an other transmitter or finish the registration.
HINT: If continuing the registration, go back to Procedure D within 40 seconds.
n. Perform one of the following operations to finish the Add mode and the Rewrite mode.
- Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder.
- Open any one of the doors.
- Wait for 40 seconds after the code registration.
HINT: When registering 4 codes at a time, the mode will be finished when the 4th code is registered.
