INSPECTION
1. INSPECT KEY INTER LOCK SOLENOID
a) Measure the resistance of the solenoid.
Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the solenoid.
b) Apply positive (+) battery voltage between the terminals. Check that sounds are emitted from the operating solenoid.
If sounds are not emitted, replace the solenoid.
HINT: If sounds are not emitted from the solenoid, the solenoid is not operating.
2. INSPECT SHIFT LOCK CONTROL SWITCH
a) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.
3. INSPECT KEY INTERLOCK SOLENOID
a) Measure the resistance of the solenoid.
Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the key interlock solenoid.
b) Connect the battery's positive (+) terminal to terminal 2 (KLS+) and the battery's negative terminal to terminal 1 (KLS-). Check that sounds are emitted from the operating solenoid.
If sounds are not emitted, replace the solenoid.
HINT: If sounds are not emitted from the solenoid, the solenoid is not operating.
