Applicability

Introduction

Some 2004-2007 model year Sienna vehicles may exhibit a rattle/noise or inoperative windows due to loose or missing window regulator bolts. This condition can occur on both front doors as well as both sliding doors. New window regulator bolts are available to correct these conditions.

Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure

Front Door Procedure

NOTE

Use the following procedure for both driver and passenger doors.





1. Remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish.

Using the plastic pry tool disengage the clip claw and remove the garnish.





2. Remove the front door inside handle bezel plug.

Using the plastic pry tool, disengage the 3 claws and remove the bezel.

3. Remove the power window regulator master switch assembly.

A. Remove the screw.

B. Using the plastic pry tool disengage the clip and claw then remove the armrest base panel upper together with the switch.





C. Disconnect the connector.





D. Remove the 3 screws and switch from the armrest base panel upper.

4. Remove the front door trim board sub-assembly.

A. Remove the 3 screws and back frame plate.

B. Remove the 2 cushion rubbers.

C. Remove the 2 screws and clip A.

D. Using the plastic pry tool disengage the 9 remaining clips.





E. Remove the trim board by pulling upward.





F. Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE

To prevent the door panel from being damaged, cover the areas indicated by arrow marks in the illustration with protective tape.

G. Using the plastic pry tool disengage the 10 hooks and remove the inner weatherstrip.

H. Remove the 2 screws and inside handle.





5. Remove the front door service hole cover.

A. Remove the screw and reinforcement No.1.

B. Remove the service hole cover.





6. Open the door glass until the bolts appear in the service holes. Replace the 2 front door window regulator bolts with the NEW parts.

Remove/replace one bolt at a time and then torque each bolt.

Torque: 8 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in*lbf)

7. Assemble in reverse order of disassembly.

Sliding Door Repair Procedure

NOTE

Use the following procedure for both LH and RH sliding doors.





1. Remove the sliding door window garnish.

A. Fully open the slide door window.

B. Remove the glass run.

C. Using the plastic pry tool disengage the clip and remove the garnish.

D. Using the plastic pry tool disengage the 2 claws and remove the weatherstrip inner from the garnish.

2. Remove the side trim board cover rear side trim board.





A. Remove the 2 screws.

B. Using the plastic pry tool disengage the 8 claws and remove the cover together with the window control switch.

C. Remove the 2 screws and window control switch.





3. Remove rear door trim board sub-assembly.

A. Remove the screw.

B. Using the plastic pry tool disengage the 9 clips and remove the trim board.

NOTE

In order to prevent the door panel from being damaged, cover the areas with protective tape as indicated by arrow marks in the illustration.

4. Remove and replace the window regulator bolts from the regulator and replace with the NEW parts.

Remove/replace bolts one at a time and then torque each bolt.

Torque: 7 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in*lbf)

5. Assemble the door panel and components in the reverse order of disassembly.
