REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.
3. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUBASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission on Separate Seat Type)
4. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission on Separate Seat Type)
5. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type)
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL CUP HOLDER TRAY (for Automatic Transmission on Separate Seat Type)
7. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX (for Automatic Transmission on Separate Seat Type)
8. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX (for Manual Transmission on Separate Seat Type)
9. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX (for Automatic Transmission on Bench Seat Type)
10. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX (for Manual Transmission on Bench Seat Type)
11. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the holder (with connectors) from the center airbag sensor assembly.
b. Remove the 3 bolts and the center airbag sensor assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

a. Check that the ignition switch is turned to OFF.
b. Check that the cable is disconnected from the battery negative terminal.

CAUTION: After removing the terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.

c. Provisionally install the air bag sensor assembly center with the 3 bolts.

NOTE:
- If the center airbag sensor assembly has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the center airbag sensor assembly, make sure that the SRS wiring does not interfere with any other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

d. Tighten the 3 bolts to the specified torque.

Torque: 17.5 N.m (179 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)

e. Check that there is no slack in the installation parts of the center airbag sensor assembly.
f. Connect the holder (with connectors) to the center airbag sensor assembly.
g. Check that the waterproof sheet is properly set.

3. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE BOX (for Automatic Transmission on Bench Seat Type)
4. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE BOX (for Manual Transmission on Separate Seat Type)
5. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE BOX (for Automatic Transmission on Separate Seat Type)
6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL CUP HOLDER TRAY (for Automatic Transmission on Separate Seat Type)
7. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type)
8. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUBASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission on Separate Seat Type)
9. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUBASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission on Separate Seat Type)
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque: 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)

11. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
