REMOVAL

NOTE:
- If the wiring connector of the SRS is disconnected with the ignition switch in the ON position, DTCs will be recorded.
- Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing the parts, replace them with new ones.
- Never reuse an occupant classification sensor if an airbag has previously deployed in a collision.
- Remove the front seat cushion cover pad and front seat cushion cover together, in order to avoid occupant classification sensor malfunctions.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.
2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU
6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HINGE COVER LH
7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HINGE COVER RH
8. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK LOWER FRONT BRACKET LH
10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK LOWER FRONT BRACKET RH
11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK LOWER REAR BRACKET LH
12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK LOWER REAR BRACKET RH
13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER TRACK ASSEMBLY LH
14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER TRACK ASSEMBLY RH
15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING ASSEMBLY
16. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR




a. Disconnect the connector from the occupant classification sensor.
b. Remove the wiring harness clamp.
c. Disengage the clamps from the seat cushion frame.
d. Remove the 2 clips and the occupant classification sensor.

INSTALLATION

NOTE:
- Install new parts from prepared service kits.
- Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing the parts, replace them with new ones.
- Never reuse an occupant classification sensor involved in a collision when the airbag has deployed.
- If the occupant classification sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the occupant classification sensor, make sure that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
- After installing, shake the occupant classification sensor to check that there is no looseness.
- Remove the front seat cushion cover pad and front seat cushion cover together, in order to avoid occupant classification sensor malfunctions.

1. INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR

a. Install the occupant classification sensor with the 2 clips.
b. Engage the clamps to the seat cushion frame.
c. Pass the tube of the occupant classification sensor through marked portion A and then fix it at marked portion B on the front seat cushion spring assembly with the wiring harness clamp, as shown in the illustration.

HINT: Cut the wiring harness clamp leaving 5 to 10 mm (0.20 to 0.39 in.) at the end.




d. Connect the connector to the occupant classification sensor.

4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER TRACK ASSEMBLY RH
5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT TRACK LOWER REAR BRACKET LH
6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT TRACK LOWER REAR BRACKET RH
7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT TRACK LOWER FRONT BRACKET LH
8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT TRACK LOWER FRONT BRACKET RH
9. INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU
10. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
11. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HINGE COVER LH
12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HINGE COVER RH
13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
15. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
16. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
17. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque: 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)

18. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION AND SENSITIVITY CHECK
19. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
