FRONT BRAKECOMPONENTS:
REMOVAL
HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
^ The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD KIT
(a) Remove the pin hold clip.
NOTICE: The pin hold clip can be used again if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.
(b) Remove the hole pins.
(c) Remove the front disc brake anti-rattle spring.
NOTICE: The anti-rattle spring can be used again if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation, cracks or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.
(d) Remove the 2 pads from the disc brake caliper.
(e) Remove the No. 1 and No. 2 anti-squeal shims from each pad.
3. DISCONNECT NO. 7 FRONT BRAKE TUBE
(a) Using SST, disconnect the front brake tube from the disc brake caliper.

4. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE: Wash brake fluid off immediately if it is spilled on any painted surface.
5. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake caliper from the knuckle.
6. REMOVE FRONT DISC
(a) Put matchmarks on the front disc and the axle hub if planning to reuse the disc.
(b) Remove the front disc.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FRONT DISC
(a) Align the matchmarks, and then install the front disc.
HINT: When replacing the front disc with a new one, select the installation position where the front disc has the minimum runout.
2. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the disc brake caliper with 2 new bolts.
Torque: 99 N*m (1010 kgf*cm, 73 ft.*lbf)
3. CONNECT NO. 7 FRONT BRAKE TUBE
(a) Using SST, connect the front brake tube.

Torque:
without SST 15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)
with SST 14 N*m (145 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)
HINT: Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.8 in.).
4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD KIT
(a) Apply disc brake grease to both sides of the No. 1 anti-squeal shims.
(b) Install the No. 1 and No. 2 anti-squeal shims to each pad.
(c) Install the 2 pads to the disc brake caliper.
(d) Install the front disc brake anti-rattle spring between the 2 pads.
NOTICE: The anti-rattle spring can be used again if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation, cracks or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.
(e) Install the 2 hole pins.
(f) Install the pin hold clip.
NOTICE: The pin hold clip can be used again if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.
5. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID
6. BLEED AIR FROM BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER
7. BLEED AIR FROM BRAKE LINE
8. BLEED AIR FROM VSC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
9. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR
10. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
11. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque:
for Aluminum Wheel 131 N*m (1336 kgf*cm, 97 ft.*lbf)
for Steel Wheel 209 N*m (2131 kgf*cm, 154 ft.*lbf)
