Disassembly and Reassembly
DISASSEMBLY1. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE
a. Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector.
b. Press down on the sender gauge claw labeled A. Then slide the sender gauge upward to remove it.
2. REMOVE SUB TANK SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
b. Using a small screwdriver, detach the claw on the end of the tube from the claw hole. Disconnect the tube from the 2 clamps.
HINT: The O-ring is installed firmly between the jet pump and sub tank. Therefore, the jet pump and sub tank should be removed carefully using a screwdriver that has its tip taped.
c. Disconnect the fuel tube.
d. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws from the claw holes.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
e. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws from the claw holes and remove the sub tank.
NOTE: Do not damage the fuel sub tank.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. REMOVE FUEL PUMP
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 claws from the claw holes and disconnect the fuel pump from the suction plate with filter.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the fuel pump harness.
c. Remove the O-ring and spacer from the fuel pump.
REASSEMBLY
1. INSTALL FUEL PUMP
a. Install the fuel pump harness.
b. Apply a light coat of gasoline to a new O-ring.Then install the O-ring and spacer to the fuel pump.
c. Attach the 5 claws to the claw holes and install the fuel pump and suction plate with filter.
2. INSTALL SUB TANK SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Attach the 2 claws to the claw holes and install the fuel sub tank.
b. Attach the 3 claws to the claw holes.
c. Connect the fuel tube.
d. Install the tube part to the sub tank.
1. Attach the claw on the end of the tube to the claw hole.Install the tube to the 2 clamps on the fuel sub tank.
e. Connect the fuel pump connector.
3. INSTALL FUEL SENDER GAUGE
a. Set the sender gauge to the fuel sub tank. Then slide the sender gauge downward to install it.
b. Connect the fuel sender gauge connector.
