INTRODUCTION

Some 2007 - 2008 model year Tundra and 2008 model year Sequoia vehicles may experience power steering Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0552 and/or P0553. The power steering sensor has been changed to correct this condition. Use the following repair procedure to address customer concerns.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Using techstream, confirm the condition by checking for DTCs P0552 and/or P0553.
Refer to the Repair Manual within E-TAS / TIS library:

2. Once the condition has been confirmed, disconnect the pressure sensor connector and proceed with removing the power steering pressure switch.

NOTE
The power steering sensor is located at the power steering vane pump and is mounted to the high pressure feed line.

3. Install the NEW power steering pressure sensor.
Torque: 20.6 ± 3.9 N-m (207.4 kgf-cm, 15.2 ± 2.8 ft-lbf)

4. Once the power steering pressure sensor has been replaced, start the vehicle and check for any leaks from the sensor and the high pressure feed line.
5. Check power steering fluid level and adjust as needed.
