REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat)
a. Remove the front seat.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat)
a. Remove the front seat.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Center Seat)
a. Remove the front seat.

4. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Double Cab)
a. Remove the rear seat.

5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
7. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for Double Cab)
8. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for Double Cab)
9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH (for Regular Cab)
a. Partially remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH so that the quarter trim panel front LH and quarter trim panel lower LH can be removed.

10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH (for Regular Cab)

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

11. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH (for Double Cab)
a. Partially remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH so that the quarter trim panel front LH and quarter trim panel lower LH can be removed.

12. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH (for Double Cab)

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

13. REMOVE UPPER BACK PANEL GARNISH (for Regular Cab)
14. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT BOX LH (for Regular Cab)
15. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT BOX RH (for Regular Cab)
16. REMOVE LOWER QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH
a. for Regular Cab:
Remove the quarter trim panel.

b. for Double Cab:
Remove the quarter trim panel.

17. REMOVE LOWER QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH
a. for Regular Cab:
Remove the quarter trim panel.

b. for Double Cab:
Remove the quarter trim panel.

18. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH
a. for Regular Cab:
Remove the quarter trim panel.

b. for Double Cab:
Remove the quarter trim panel.

19. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

20. REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (w/ Long Type Roof Console Box)
21. REMOVE ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Short Type Roof Console Box)
22. REMOVE COAT HOOK
23. TEMPORARILY REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
a. for Regular Cab:
It is not necessary to completely remove the roof headlining. Slightly lower the rear section of the roof headlining so that the back window glass can be removed in a later step.

b. for Double Cab:
It is not necessary to completely remove the roof headlining. Slightly lower the rear section of the roof headlining so that the back window glass can be removed in a later step.

24. REMOVE REAR ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

26. REMOVE BACK WINDOW ASSEMBLY






a. Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.






b. From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and back window as shown in the illustration.
c. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.






d. Place matchmarks over the window and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.

HINT: Matchmarks do not need to be placed if the window is not going to be reused.

e. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back window.

NOTICE: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the back window.






f. Using suction cups, remove the back window glass.

NOTICE: If the stopper is damaged, the back window glass assembly must be replaced. Be careful when performing the procedure.






27. REMOVE UPPER OUTSIDE BACK WINDOW MOULDING (for Slide Type)

HINT: Perform the following procedure if replacing the back window moulding.

a. Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 clips and remove the back window moulding.






28. REMOVE LOWER OUTSIDE BACK WINDOW MOULDING (for Slide Type)

HINT: Perform the following procedure if replacing the back window moulding.

a. Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 clips and remove the back window moulding.

29. CLEAN BACK WINDOW ASSEMBLY






a. Using a scraper, remove the damaged spacers and adhesive sticking to the glass.
b. Clean the outer edge of the back window with a non-residue solvent.

NOTICE:
- Do not touch the back window surface after cleaning it.
- Be careful not to damage the window.
- Even if using a new back window, clean the back window with a non-residue solvent.

30. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY






a. Using a scraper, remove the moulding and adhesive from the vehicle body.
b. Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.
1. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration.

HINT: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.

NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

2. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner.

HINT: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL NO. 1 BACK WINDOW GLASS SPACER






a. Install 2 new spacers onto the back window assembly as shown in the illustration.

2. INSTALL NO. 2 BACK WINDOW GLASS SPACER






a. Install 2 new spacers onto the back window assembly as shown in the illustration.

3. INSTALL BACK WINDOW ASSEMBLY






a. Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body.

NOTICE:
- Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Do not apply primer to the adhesive.
- Throw away any leftover primer.
- Do not apply too much primer.

b. Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer G to the contact surface of the back window.









HINT: If primer is applied to an area that is not specified, wipe off the primer with a non-residue solvent before it dries.

NOTICE:
- Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Throw away any leftover primer.
- Do not apply too much primer.

c. Apply adhesive to the back window.
Adhesive: Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent

1. Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration below.






HINT: After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time written in the table below.

2. Load the sealer gun with the cartridge.
3. Apply adhesive to the back window as shown in the illustration.

















d. Using suction cups, position the glass so that the reference marks are aligned. Press it in gently along the rim.






NOTICE:
- Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Check that the clips are attached to the vehicle body correctly.
- Check the clearance between the vehicle body and glass.

e. Lightly press the front surface of the back window to ensure that the back window is securely fit to the vehicle body.

NOTICE: Check that the spacers are attached to the vehicle body correctly.

f. Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive.

NOTICE: Do not drive the vehicle within the time written in the table below.






4. CHECK FOR LEAKS AND REPAIR
a. Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened.
b. Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.

5. INSTALL UPPER OUTSIDE BACK WINDOW MOULDING (for Slide Type)






a. Clean the back window surface.
1. Using a heat light, heat the back window surface.
2. Remove the double-sided tape from the back window.
3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

b. If reusing the moulding:
Clean the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the moulding.
2. Remove the double-sided tape from the moulding.
3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
4. Apply new double-sided tape to the moulding, as shown in the illustration.

c. Install the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the back window and moulding.
2. Remove the peeling paper.
3. Attach the 3 clips to install the moulding.

6. INSTALL LOWER OUTSIDE BACK WINDOW MOULDING






a. Clean the back window surface.
1. Using a heat light, heat the back window surface.
2. Remove the double-sided tape from the back window.
3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

b. If reusing the moulding:
Clean the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the moulding.
2. Remove the double-sided tape from the moulding.
3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
4. Apply new double-sided tape to the moulding, as shown in the illustration.

c. Install the moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the back window and moulding.
2. Remove the peeling paper.
3. Attach the 3 clips to install the moulding.

Install the quarter trim panel.

b. for Double Cab:
Install the quarter trim panel.

13. INSTALL FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

14. INSTALL LOWER QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH
a. for Regular Cab:
Install the quarter trim panel.

b. for Double Cab:
Install the quarter trim panel.
