Heated Oxygen Sensor

REMOVAL

CAUTION:
- The procedures should be performed by at least 2 people.
- Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.
- The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
- Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE:
- Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
- After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR (for 4WD)
3. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)
4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for Regular Cab Standard Deck)
5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

7. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)

a. Using SST, remove the sensor.
SST 09224-00010

8. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)
a. Using SST, remove the sensor.
SST 09224-00010

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)
a. Using SST, install the sensor.
SST 09224-00010

Torque: without SST 44 N.m (449 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) with SST 40 N.m (408 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf)

HINT:
- Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.81 in.). If using a torque wrench with a length that is not 30 cm (11.81 in.), calculate the torque specification for the torque wrench and SST based on the "without SST" torque specification.
- Make sure SST and wrench are connected in a straight line.

2. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)

3. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for Regular Cab Standard Deck)
6. INSTALL FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)
7. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR (for 4WD)
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE: Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
