P310 HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL: HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM: P0A1F-129: Battery Energy Control Module

DTC P0A1F-129 - Battery Energy Control Module

DESCRIPTION

The battery smart unit sends HV battery voltage information to the hybrid vehicle control ECU via serial communication.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

The hybrid vehicle control ECU calculates the differences between the received HV battery voltage, boost converter voltage, and inverter voltage. If any of the differences exceed prescribed values, the hybrid vehicle control ECU determines that there is a malfunction in the battery voltage circuit. When the hybrid vehicle control ECU detects a malfunction, it illuminates the MIL and sets a DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Performing the check procedures for a long time with the shift lever in the N position may cause the HV battery to discharge and DTC P3000-388 to be stored.
HINT: If it is necessary to replace the battery smart unit after performing troubleshooting, voltages need to be confirmed after installing the new battery smart unit. To confirm normal operation, compare the HV battery voltage (Power Resource VB), the pre-boost voltage (VL-Voltage before Boosting), and post-boost voltage (VH-Voltage after Boosting) with the power switch on (READY) and the shift lever in the N position.
When the system is normal, the Power Resource VB, VL-Voltage before Boosting, and VH-Voltage after Boosting values should be almost equal (voltage boosting will not occur when the shift lever is in neutral).

PROCEDURE

1. REPLACE BATTERY SMART UNIT
(a) Replace the battery smart unit Removal.
