DTC P3107-213 - Airbag ECU Communication Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION
The hybrid vehicle control ECU detects a problem in the collision signal line from the center airbag sensor assembly and alerts the driver.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
(d) Check if DTCs are output.
Result:

B -- GO TO DTC CHART Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)

(a) Connect an oscilloscope between the center airbag sensor assembly terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

Result:

B -- CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
A -- Continue to next step.
3. CLEAR DTC
(a) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / hybrid control / Trouble Codes.
(b) Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / hybrid control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
(a) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / hybrid control / Trouble Codes.
(b) Check if DTCs are output.

B -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU

5. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
(a) Check for intermittent problems. Check For Intermittent Problems

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA
OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
6. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Disconnect connector D30 from the center airbag sensor assembly.

NG -- REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)
(a) Disconnect connector D35 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
