DTC P3107-215 - Airbag ECU Communication Circuit Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The hybrid vehicle control ECU detects a problem in the collision signal line from the center airbag sensor assembly and alerts the driver.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
(d) Check if DTCs are output.
Result:
B -- GO TO DTC CHART Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CLEAR DTC (HV)
(a) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(b) Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
(a) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(b) Check if DTCs are output.
Result:
B -- CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
A -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
(a) Check for intermittent problems. Check For Intermittent Problems
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA
OK -- REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
5. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
(a) Connect an oscilloscope between the center airbag sensor assembly terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.
Result:
B -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
A -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HV CONTROL ECU AND CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR)
(a) Check the connections of the hybrid vehicle control ECU and center airbag sensor assembly connectors.
OK:
The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.
NG -- CONNECT SECURELY
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Disconnect connector D35 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
(c) Disconnect connector D30 from the center airbag sensor assembly.
(d) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(e) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage :
NOTE: Turning the power switch on (IG) with the hybrid vehicle control ECU and the center airbag sensor assembly connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
(f) Turn the power switch off.
(g) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for open):

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
