Air Conditioning System (for Manual Air Conditioning System)

AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (for Manual Air Conditioning System): PRECAUTION

PRECAUTION

1. PRECAUTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY CABLE
HINT: When disconnecting the battery negative (-) terminal, initialize the following system after the terminal is reconnected:

2. PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING TECHSTREAM
(a) When using the Techstream to troubleshoot the LIN communication line:
Connect the Techstream to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.
(b) After all DTCs are cleared, check if the trouble occurs again 6 seconds after the power switch is turned on (IG).
3. NOTICES FOR HYBRID SYSTEM ACTIVATION

- When the warning light is illuminated or the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, pressing the power switch may not start the system on the first try. If so, press the power switch again.
- With the power switch on (IG), disconnect the battery. If the key is not in the vehicle interior during reconnection, DTC B2799 may be output.

4. BECAUSE THE COMPRESSOR HAS A HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT, WEAR INSULATED GLOVES AND PULL OUT THE SERVICE PLUG TO CUT THE HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT BEFORE INSPECTION

5. DO NOT HANDLE REFRIGERANT IN ENCLOSED AREAS OR NEAR OPEN FLAMES

6. ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION

7. BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET LIQUID REFRIGERANT IN YOUR EYES OR ON YOUR SKIN
If liquid refrigerant gets in your eyes or on your skin:
(a) Wash the area with lots of cold water.
CAUTION: Do not rub your eyes or skin.

(b) Apply clean petroleum jelly to the skin.
(c) Go immediately to a physician or hospital for professional treatment.

8. NEVER HEAT CONTAINER OR EXPOSE IT TO OPEN FLAME
9. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP CONTAINER OR SUBJECT IT TO PHYSICAL SHOCKS

10. DO NOT OPERATE COMPRESSOR WITH INSUFFICIENT REFRIGERANT IN REFRIGERANT SYSTEM
If there is not enough refrigerant in the refrigerant system, oil circulation will be insufficient and compressor burnout may occur. Necessary care should be taken to avoid this.

11. DO NOT OPEN HIGH PRESSURE MANIFOLD VALVE WHILE COMPRESSOR IS OPERATING
Open and close only the low pressure valve. Opening and closing the high pressure valve could cause the charging cylinder to rupture.
12. BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERCHARGE SYSTEM WITH REFRIGERANT
If the refrigerant is overcharged, it causes problems such as insufficient cooling, poor fuel economy and HV system overheating.
13. PRECAUTIONS TO BE OBSERVED WHILE SERVICING
CAUTION: Wear insulated gloves and pull out the service plug grip before inspection, as some of the procedures require disconnecting the high-voltage connectors.
NOTICE:
- For the compressor with motor assembly, use ND-OIL 11.
- Electrical insulation performance may decrease significantly if even a small amount of oil other than ND-OIL 11 is used or enters the refrigeration cycle, causing a DTC to be output.
- Replace the main components (evaporator, condenser, and compressor) if a large amount of oil other than ND-OIL 11 enters the system. Failing to do so may cause electrical insulation performance to remain low, causing a DTC to be output.

14. Be careful because the fan may operate if the air conditioning switch is turned on if the engine or inverter coolant becomes hot while the power switch is on (IG/READY) and the engine is stopped.
