Pattern Select Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

If pattern select switch signals are input to the hybrid vehicle control ECU, the ECU sends signals to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication to turn on the ECON mode light.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (BUS CHECK)
HINT: ECUs that are correctly connected to the CAN communication system can be displayed on Techstream.
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items: System Select / CAN Bus Check.
Result:

B -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ALL DTC CODE)
(a) Check for DTCs of all systems by following the prompts on the tester screen.
Result:

B -- GO TO DTC CHART
A -- Continue to next step.
3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (METER)
(a) Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test / Indicat. ECO.
(b) Check the condition of the pattern select indicator light (ECON mode light) by operating the tester.

OK:

Result:

B -- GO TO METER SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (ECON MODE SWITCH)
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Disconnect the pattern select switch assembly (ECON mode switch) connector.

NG -- REPLACE PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (ECON MODE SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)
(a) Connect the pattern select switch assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect connector D36 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
