Data List / Active List
3MZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: SFI SYSTEM: DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST
DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST
1. DATA LIST
HINT: Using the Techstream to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.
NOTE: In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.
(a) Put the engine in inspection mode Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
(b) Warm up the engine.
(c) Turn the power switch off.
(d) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(e) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(f) Turn the Techstream on.
(g) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.
(h) Check the values by referring to the table below.
HINT: *1: If no idling conditions are specified, the transmission gear selector lever should be in the N or P position, and the A/C switch and all accessory switches should be OFF.
2. ACTIVE TEST
HINT: Using the Techstream to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs, actuators, and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.
(a) Put the engine in inspection mode Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(d) Turn the Techstream on.
(e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test.
(f) Perform the Active Test by referring to the table below.
3. SYSTEM CHECK
HINT: Performing a System Check enables the system, which consists of multiple actuators, to be operated without removing any parts. In addition, it can show whether or not any DTCs are set, and can detect potential malfunctions in the system. The System Check can be performed with Techstream.
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility.
(e) Perform the System Check by referring to the following table.
