Removal








BRAKE CONTROL: BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
NOTE: While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or any door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore, when servicing the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Repair Instruction - Initialization

2. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal Part 1, Step 1-62

4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal Part 1, Step 1-62

5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR






(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.






(b) Remove the 2 bolts and brake pedal stroke sensor.
NOTE: Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped, replace the brake pedal stroke sensor with a new one.
