SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR: REMOVAL

HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION: Be sure to read "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Repair Instruction - Initialization
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE Removal Part 1, Step 1-62
4. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP Removal Part 1, Step 1-62
5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE Removal Part 1, Step 1-62
6. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP Removal Part 1, Step 1-62
7. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH Removal Part 1, Step 1-62
8. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the connector from the side airbag sensor.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
(b) Remove the bolt and disengage the pin, and remove the side airbag sensor.
NOTE: Loosen the bolt while holding the side airbag sensor because the side airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
