Front Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The Multiplex network body ECU controls FOG relay when signal is received from headlight dimmer switch assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Active Test.
(e) Check the operation.

Body





OK:
Front fog lights come on.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT FOG LIGHT RELAY





(a) Inspect fog light relay continuity.
Standard:






NG -- REPLACE FOG LIGHT RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
(a) Measure voltage between the terminal B8-7 of the multiplex network body ECU in the instrument panel junction block assembly and body ground.

NG -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.





(b) Measure voltage between each of the terminals as shown in the chart below.

NG -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
