DTC C1337/37 - Different Diameter Tire Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The skid control ECU measures the speed of each wheel by receiving signals from the speed sensors. These signals are used for recognizing whether all 4 wheels are operating properly. Therefore, all wheel signals must be equal.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Check the speed sensor signal after replacement (Test Mode Procedure).
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK TIRE SIZE
(a) Check tire size and condition of all 4 wheels.
OK:
All 4 wheels are the same size and in the same condition.
NG -- REPLACE TIRES SO THAT ALL 4 TIRES ARE SAME IN SIZE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK SPEED SENSOR ROTOR (Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Malfunction)
(a) Remove the drive shaft, and check around the speed sensor rotor.
OK:
No scratches or foreign matter on the sensor tip.
NG -- REPLACE SPEED SENSOR ROTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK SPEED SENSOR
(a) Check the speed sensor circuit (Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Malfunction).
NG -- REPLACE SPEED SENSOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - EACH SPEED SENSOR)
(a) Check the speed sensor circuit (Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Malfunction).
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs (Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
(b) Drive the vehicle at more than 13 mph (20 km/h) for more than 60 seconds.
(c) Check if the same DTCs are detected.
