Removal

DIFFERENTIAL: DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY (for 1GR-FE, 2UZ-FE):

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the propeller shaft for 2WD (Service and Repair).
(b) Remove the propeller shaft for 4WD (Service and Repair).
3. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL (Service and Repair)

4. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT LH
(a) Remove the rear axle shaft LH (Removal).
5. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

6. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 10 nuts, 10 washers and differential carrier.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the differential carrier and rear axle housing.

(b) Remove the gasket.
