INTRODUCTION:
Some Sequoia or Tundra vehicles with AB60 (6 speed) transmissions may exhibit transmission slipping, MIL "ON" with transmission shift performance DTCs such as P2714, P0751, P0756, P0761, P0766, P0729, P0781, P0894, or P0776, or harsh shifting due to damage to the C1 clutch assembly. Installation of revised Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) software logic may be required to repair the vehicle. Follow the repair procedure in this bulletin to address customer concerns.
NOTE:
The DTC that is stored first will have 5 frames of Freeze Frame Data. If P2714 is set first, the transmission fluid level may be incorrect.
REPAIR PROCEDURE OVERVIEW:
1. Reflash the ECM (PCM).
2. Test drive and confirm if the MIL "ON" or shifting issues recur.
3. Replace the transmission if necessary.
APPLICABILITY:
PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown.

REQUIRED TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Check for the Authorized Modifications Label affixed to the vehicle in the location shown in Figure 1. Confirm if the ECM (PCM) calibration has been updated. If the calibration ID listed is NOT the latest ECM (PCM) calibration - go to step 2.
2. Flash Reprogram the ECM (PCM).
NOTE:
- The GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station MUST be used in Power Supply Mode to maintain battery voltage at 13.5 volts while flash reprogramming the vehicle.
- For details on how to use the GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station, refer to the GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station Instruction Manual located on ETAS/TIS library > Tools > tools and equipment > GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station Instruction Manual.
Follow the procedures outlined in TSB No. 2758, "Techstream ECU Flash Reprogramming Procedure", and flash the ECM (PCM) with the NEW calibration file update.
3. Reset the transmission memory, then test drive the vehicle and confirm proper operation. Refer to the Repair Manual within E-TAS / TIS library:

4. If any of the following conditions exist, check the automatic transaxle fluid and adjust if necessary.
- MIL "ON" with transmission performance DTCs.
- Harsh shifting.
- Transmission slipping
