Front Passenger Side Power Window does not Operate with Front Passenger Side Power Window Switch

DESCRIPTION

- If the front passenger side manual UP/DOWN function does not operate, there may be a malfunction in the power window regulator switch (for front passenger side), front power window regulator motor RH, power window regulator master switch or harness and connector.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SWITCH - BATTERY)





(a) Disconnect the M2 switch connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the switch (Removal).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SWITCH - FRONT PASSENGER SIDE MOTOR)





(a) Disconnect the M2 switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the M3 motor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH





(a) Remove the motor (Removal).
(b) Apply battery voltage to connector terminals 1 and 2.
(c) Check that the motor gear rotates smoothly as follows.
OK:





NG -- REPLACE FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SWITCH)





(a) Disconnect the N2 master switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the M2 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

for Regular Cab:





for Double Cab:





for CrewMax:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the master switch (Removal).
(b) Reconnect the master switch connector.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:

for Regular Cab:





for Double Cab:





for CrewMax:





NG -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- GO TO POWER WINDOWS DO NOT OPERATE AT ALL
